About Us

The Portland Jobs Alliance is a partnership of service providers, employment practitioners, educational institutions, and businesses based in Portland, ME. Together, we are building a coordinated approach to providing employment services that promote access and success for low/moderate income job seekers. Our goal is to effectively meet Portland companies’ hiring needs by creating an integrated and customized job training, referral and retention support system for job seekers.

Catholic Charities Maine, Refugee & Immigration Services (RIS) is the sole administrator of refugee resettlement in the State of Maine. RIS supports refugees and asylees to become self-sufficient through linguistically and culturally appropriate case management, employment and a variety of other services.

CEI is a Community Development Corporation (CDC) and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) specializing in business development and financing.We are also the lead agency in the new Portland Jobs Alliance.

Portland Adult Education

Portland Adult Education (PAE) is a comprehensive community program that brings people and resources together to provide accessible, hands-on tools for academic learning, job training and personal enrichment. Classes are held day and night, at a variety of locations throughout the city.PAE is committed to helping Portland area adults enjoy a multitude of educational choices to enrich their lives.

Preble Street Resource Center

The Preble Street Resource Center is the hub of services for people in Greater Portland who are homeless and living in poverty—meeting urgent needs, coordinating services, providing case management, collaborating with service providers to improve employment and housing success, and connecting people to community resources to support self-sufficiency and stability.
